On this site we have Polish copies of this rare and superb weapon but here we have the actual Pistol.
The Walther LP53 is a well-known .177 calibre break-barrel air pistol.
It is particularly famous for its association with the James Bond film franchise.
Well known for its distinctive long barrel and overall design.
It' is a single-shot, Spring pistoned Air pistol designed for target shooting.
The LP53 gained iconic status because it was used in promotional photos and posters for several James Bond films,
most notably "From Russia With Love," "Goldfinger," "Thunderball," and "You Only Live Twice."
Interestingly, it wasn't actually used in the films themselves.
he story is, that when a PPK was not available for a photo shoot, the photographer used his personal LP53 instead.
The Walther LP53 was produced by Carl Walther GmbH between 1953 and 1983.
It is considered a classic air pistol, and is highly sought after by collectors, especially with the Bond connection.
Here we have an excellent example of this Pistol in full working order and whilst the barrel bluing is not pristine it is acceptable for its age.
The wooden cocking aid is still with it, which really does make it easier to prepare this pistol for firing.
I must admit to being surprised at just how powerful it actually is, especially when it probably has not been fired in many years.
